Joel McLeish

A native of London, Ontario, Joel began his post-secondary education at McMaster University before moving out west and pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting at MacEwan University in Alberta. During his undergrad, he discovered his passion for advocacy, enrolled in law school, began studying at the University of Manitoba, and eventually completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta.

Joel launched his legal career in a small general practice firm where he gained litigation experience in family law, child protection, real estate, and criminal matters. He has successfully appeared before various courts in Alberta and has conducted multiple trials across different practice areas. His interest in civil litigation ultimately led him to dedicate his career to personal injury law and helping those who’s lives have been seriously impacted by the negligence of others.

Before joining Preszler Injury Lawyers, Joel worked for another large personal injury firm where he managed complex claims involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, burn injuries, and dog attacks. He brings a client-centred approach to his work, prioritizing empathy, clear communication, and ensuring fair results for his clients.

Outside the courtroom, Joel enjoys spending quality time with his partner and family, playing games, watching shows, and watering his garden. He also participates regularly in the Calgary community theatre scene, where his love for performance (outside of the courtroom) truly shines.
