Faraz Ravanbakhsh
Faraz is an associate at Preszler Law where he maintains a litigation practice focused on institutional abuse cases and general personal injury litigation. He works closely with managing partner, Joseph Fearon to advance litigation on behalf of vulnerable people who have been harmed or injured.
Faraz graduated from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. Prior to moving back home to Vancouver, Faraz summered and articled in Ontario for a national law firm where he gained significant exposure to high-profile complex commercial litigation and constitutional litigation files heard before the Supreme Court of Canada, including Trinity Western University v Law Society of Upper Canada.
In British Columbia, Faraz has appeared before all levels of court for various matters. He has worked on behalf of Indigenous children whose identity and cultural identity were stolen through government intervention. He has also represented clients before the British Columbia Securities Commission for large multi-party securities disputes involving allegations of insider trading and violations of the public interest.
Before joining Preszler Law, Faraz worked at national, regional, and elite litigation boutiques where he specialized in commercial and construction litigation. He is now proud to advocate for individual claimants who have been harmed or injured.
Faraz is passionate about reconciliation with Indigenous peoples and has served at Potlatches throughout British Columbia for over a decade. In recognition of his services to Indigenous communities, Faraz was honoured to become an adopted member of the Musgamagw Dzawada'enuxw First Nation of British Columbia in 2016 at a Potlatch, where he was given the name hita'gilame - "one who fixes the problems of others".
