Donald C. McKay is a highly experienced litigator with more than three decades of courtroom advocacy experience in both criminal and civil matters. Throughout his career, he has appeared before judges and juries at every level of court, including the British Columbia Supreme Court, the British Columbia Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Today, Donald’s practice is focused on helping individuals who have suffered serious injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, psychological trauma, chronic pain conditions, and significant orthopedic injuries. His extensive experience representing both plaintiffs and insurance companies has given him a unique perspective on personal injury claims and the strategies insurers use when evaluating cases.

Since joining Preszler Law, Donald has devoted his practice exclusively to advocating for injured people. While he is an accomplished trial lawyer, he recognizes that many clients benefit from resolving disputes through negotiated settlements or mediation whenever appropriate. His goal is always to secure the best possible outcome while minimizing stress for those he represents.

Donald is particularly committed to supporting survivors of sexual assault and institutional abuse. His decades of litigation experience and strong advocacy skills allow him to pursue accountability on behalf of clients facing some of life’s most difficult circumstances.

Originally from British Columbia, Donald was raised on Vancouver Island and is a proud father of four daughters and grandfather of two. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time on the water, fishing and boating with family and remains a dedicated hockey fan.
