Another Preszler Jury Trial Win

Our firm won its third Jury trial in the past month. Evan Lay and Farzad Balandari completed a two-and-a-half-week trial on behalf of the firm and our client.

ICBC continues to choose jury trials as a recent litigation strategy. Jury trials are longer and less predictable. We suspect ICBC believes plaintiffs are less likely to attend trial against a jury. The reality is that, however, Preszler has won every jury trial that proceeded in 2024.

In the present case, our client ended up getting quite sick during trial, yet chose to push on to avoid an adjournment. This created trouble scheduling witnesses as well. Witnesses had to be adjusted, and our client had to testify when she was not at her best.

Regardless, our client prevailed again in getting fair compensation for her accident injuries.

ICBC targeted our clientโ€™s personal life, which included unrelated and personal health concerns, our clientโ€™s abusive partner, and surveillance. These tactics can be particularly problematic in front of a jury. To their credit, the jury understood their job and saw through ICBC’s tactics, and awarded our client fair compensation.

Our focus is always on fairness for our clients. If ICBC will not offer a fair settlement, we are prepared to take the case to trial, including when ICBC elects a jury.
